Teacher Music

My passion lies in the teaching of Music and Hungarian, which form the major components of my teaching experience. I enjoy opportunities to deliver the curriculum in English, expanding my knowledge of the language. I believe that learning music and playing a musical instrument improve a child’s perception, memory and ability to concentrate. Music helps children develop their personality, behaviour, intelligence and ability to resolve conflicts. Also, there is a close connection between composing music and developing language skills. My pedagogical method is based on the world famous Kodály method.

Music has been of great importance for me since my childhood. I was born into a family of musicians and teachers. Under the influence of my cello artist father, I started learning to play the cello when I was 6 years old. After my studies at the music school, it was natural for me to continue studying cello at the Zoltán Kodály Secondary School of Music. After that, I graduated as a teacher from Ferenc Kölcsey Teacher Training College in Debrecen. I have taught lower grades in several schools, where my main subjects were, Hungarian and Arts and Craft. I worked in London, England, for almost a year to improve my English.

My teaching experience was further expanded by teaching music in pre-school and then high school as well. In addition to teaching, I gained experience organising several school events (Christmas, end of year celebrations). I received my second degree in 2008, from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Eötvös Lóránd University, Department of Cultural Management. Throughout my life, I have taught piano to different age groups through private lessons which I have delivered in English and Hungarian.

I am a mother of two. As a parent, I have also paid special attention to my daughters’ continuous school education, their language learning and their playing of musical instruments.
